Poem A Day December 18th

Little Ruby

By Jackie Fedyk

(today’s poem is based on the prompt “Dizzy, Bounce, Swamp” suggested by Jamus Duran.)

Little Ruby

She was a stiletto dizzy dream

A hot lava molten magma queen

She dangled on a fishhook on the outskirts of town

With two casaba melons that loved to bounce around

Cajun royalty bred on the swamp

A little on the bottom and a lot on the top

Papa’s from New Orleans and Mama’s from France

Little Ruby is the princess of the hoochie coochie dance
